The Montrose Golf Club comprises of two wonderful courses in the finest tradition of golf links. Situated along the rugged coastline of Angus in the very heart of Scotland’s ‘Golf Country’ Montrose’s courses provide a challenge for golfers of all abilities and is widely regarded as being one of the world’s ‘must play’ courses by Scots and international golfers.
Being the fifth oldest club in the world, The 1564 course ( formally The Medal course ) has been used for many important tournaments over the years. Most recently, the Links was honoured by the Royal and Ancient Golf Club in being chosen as a Final Qualifying Course for the Open Championship at Carnoustie in 1999 and again in 2007. www.montroselinks.co.uk |
EDZELL GOLF CLUB
Edzell Golf Club lies at the gateway to the Grampians in the foothills of the Angus Glens. Indeed the mountains form a backdrop to this lovely heathland/parkland course. The course is located in the beautiful village of Edzell, midway between the cities of Dundee and Aberdeen, and around 15 minutes drive from Montrose.
The original course was laid out in 1895 by Bob Simpson, top golf course architect of his day. In 1933/34 the course was re-designed on recommendations made by the famous James Braid and remains virtually unchanged to this day. LETHAM GRANGE GOLF CLUB
Letham Grange golf club is situated on the outskirts of Arbroath, around 20 minutes drive from Montrose.
The Old Course officially opened in 1987 by Sir Henry Cotton is a par 73 Championship layout. It is a parkland course incorporating both tree-lined and open fairways. It features memorable water hazards on the par 3, 8th hole and par 4, 10th hole. Every hole is different, presenting a variety of challenges to every level of golfer.The blue tees add another 336 yards to the length to make a fantastic championship course.
